The House

Inshriach House was built in 1906 by the Blacks (a Glasgow publishing family) as a shooting lodge. It retains much of its Edwardian atmosphere with dark panelling, open fires, period furniture and a big farmhouse kitchen but it also now has a biomass boiler, central heating, solar panels and high speed satellite internet.

You may find yourself sleeping in Mrs. Black’s room, Mr. George’s room, the French maid’s room or in the old servants quarters.

Downstairs there are two drawing rooms and a library, all opening off the hall where there is a dining table to seat 20. There is a smaller formal dining room for 8 and a sun-room for the summer. Upstairs there are 10 bedrooms with beds for 18 (5 doubles, 2 twins, 3 singles) and the 3 original Edwardian bathrooms. Downstairs we have added a new shower room.

The house has private gardens with a fire pit and there are miles of walks on and off the farm We can supply lamb from our own flock, gin from our own distillery and at the right time of year we can supply eggs and food grown in our kitchen gardens.
